Centered around a family caught in the storm’s devastation, this moving play blends real historical figures with compelling fictional storytelling, offering a deeply personal look at one of the deadliest natural disasters in American history.

JJ’s Place is a powerful and emotional production that tackles themes of love, loss, and personal growth. Set in Boyle Heights, this story captures the heart of a community, delving into the relationships that shape us, the struggles that challenge us, and the strength we find to overcome them. With authentic characters and deeply moving storytelling, JJ’s Place promises an unforgettable theater experience.

Proceeds from this production will benefit O’Connell College Preparatory School’s Theater Department in Galveston, TX, empowering local youth through education and opportunity.

From solo acts to dynamic group performances, this showcase highlights the versatility and creativity of the performers, ensuring a night full of surprises, humor, and heart.

 Steel Magnolias, presented by Galveston Lighthouse Productions, is a heartwarming and emotionally powerful play that explores the bond of friendship between a group of Southern women. Set in a small-town beauty salon, the story follows the lives, triumphs, and struggles of six women as they navigate love, loss, and life’s challenges. Through humor, strength, and vulnerability, these women share their joys and sorrows, demonstrating the beauty of resilience and the deep connections that hold them together. Directed by Samuel Gorashko, this production brings a poignant and relatable portrayal of friendship, family, and the unbreakable strength of the human spirit.

 Galveston Lighthouse Productions proudly presents Purlie Victorious, a vibrant and comedic play by Ossie Davis. This powerful production follows Purlie Victorious Judson, a determined preacher returning to his hometown in Georgia to fight for justice, equality, and his rightful place in the church. With the help of his strong-willed fiancée, Lutiebelle, Purlie confronts the oppressive landowner, Ol' Cap’n, in a battle of wits, humor, and heart. GLP’s rendition of this lively and thought-provoking play highlights themes of resistance, dignity, and racial equality while celebrating the spirit of community. Proceeds from the production will support the Old Central Cultural Center, continuing its mission to preserve and promote the cultural heritage of Galveston. Don't miss this unforgettable night of theater that blends humor, history, and heart!

The purpose of GALVESTON LIGHTHOUSE PRODUCTIONS, INC. shall be to promote the fine arts, and to produce and present dramatic productions, Concerts, Art exhibitions and Dance performances as an artistic, entertaining, cultural, nonprofit, community project. 12 ANGRY MEN - with Island ETC

 Following the closing arguments in a murder trial, the 12 members of the jury must deliberate, with a guilty verdict meaning death for the accused, an inner-city teen. As the dozen men try to reach a unanimous decision while sequestered in a room, one juror casts considerable doubt on elements of the case. Personal issues soon rise to the surface, and conflict threatens to derail the delicate process that will decide one boy's fate.
