Galveston Lighthouse Productions invites you to join us in a truly meaningful artistic journey with Galveston Wind, a historical drama that brings to life the stories of strength, sacrifice, and community during the devastating 1900 hurricane. This production isn’t just a show—it’s a chance to honor Galveston’s history and uplift our community through powerful storytelling.
We are looking for passionate, dedicated individuals to fill both Cast and Crew roles. While this is an unpaid opportunity, your time and talent will contribute to a cause greater than any paycheck—bringing local history to life and inspiring audiences through live performance. Your work will help support our mission of making the arts accessible, impactful, and deeply rooted in community pride.
Rehearsals will run from June through September 2025, and all cast members must be available for scheduled rehearsals, assist with marketing and outreach, participate in technical rehearsals, and be present for strike following the final performance. Auditions for Galveston Wind will take place at 7:00 PM at the Dargyn & Tobyn Events Center, located at 2228 Strand Street, Galveston, TX.
This charming upstairs venue sits in the heart of Galveston’s historic district and provides the perfect backdrop for our powerful, locally inspired production.

36 years old and a widow for ten years. She was an English teacher for ten years and the head mistress of the “Beacon”, a finishing school for girls, for the last four y ears. Anna Marie is from an affluent family, and is proper, but forward thinking.
16 years old and daughter of Charles Beaujeaux. She attends the “Beacon”
17 years old and daughter of Anna Marie Thayer. She lives at the “Beacon” with her mother.
24 years old and daughter of Charles Beaujeaux. She is married and the mother of a two year old named Lily.
4 years old and daughter of Louise Hansen.
30 to 35 years old and a teacher at the “Beacon.”

39 years old and a sailor. He is the first love of Anna Marie Thayer and has returned to Galveston in hopes of winning her again.
18 years old and has lived in Galveston since he arrived from Germany four years ago. He works at Verner’s Mercantile owned by his Uncle Verner.
19 years old and has lived in Galveston since his arrival with his brother. He works at Verner’s Mercantile also.

Small Size Preferred: Especially if the role calls for a dog under 10 lbs (as with Galveston Wind).
Calm Disposition: Must remain composed under stage lights, loud sounds, and sudden movements.
Friendly with Strangers: Comfortable around cast, crew, and possibly the audience.
Available Handler: Must be present at all rehearsals and performances.
Responsive to Cueing: Handler and dog should have a strong working bond.
Basic Commands: Sit, stay, come, heel, and lie down.
Reliable Recall: Comes when called, even with distractions.
Crate/Backstage Training: Should be able to relax quietly backstage when not on stage.
Previous Exposure to Crowds/Noise: Familiar with environments like busy public spaces or other performances is a plus.
Good with Children & Other Animals: If other actors or animals are in the production.
Up-to-date on Vaccinations
Clean and Well-Groomed: For hygiene and presentation.
Vet Clearance: Especially for older dogs.

Be a vital pat of making local theater happen—your talent keeps the show running!
Leads the build and execution of technical elements including lights, sound, and set coordination. Works closely with the director and stage manager to make sure everything runs smoothly.
Finds or creates historically accurate props, manages their use and placement during shows and rehearsals, and maintains them throughout the run.
Support the production with tasks such as set changes, running lights and sound boards, managing backstage traffic, and assisting with setup and breakdown.
Designs, sources, or constructs costumes based on the historical setting (1900 Galveston). Coordinates fittings and ensures actors are performance-ready.
Oversees all aspects of rehearsals and performances, manages the rehearsal schedule, calls cues during shows, and acts as the communication hub for the cast and crew.

All cast members will be responsible for attending all scheduled rehearsals, participating in promotional and community outreach efforts, assisting with tech week, and being present for strike after the final performance. This is an unpaid community production intended to enrich and uplift the local arts scene.
